WHO WE ARE
The founders of Azalea are no strangers to the tattoo industry. Robin Labreche and Dr. Maryam Majdi PhD own and run their own successful tattoo studio.
Having over 15 years of experience in the industry, international award winning tattoo artist Robin Labreche has seen all aspects of tattooing; from intricate detailed work done by professionals, to faded shoddily-done work acquired in someone’s kitchen (and everything in between).
Dr. Maryam Majdi, PhD Pharmacology & Therapeutics
After several years of doing stem cell research in San Diego she moved back to Montreal where shortly after, she left her field to manage and operate their tattoo studio.
“Over the years, both had seen the effects of badly done tattoo removal on their clients, rendering their skin permanently and sometimes horrifically damaged .”
The two saw an increasing demand from their clients seeking cover-ups or ways to remove their existing tattoos:
– a name of an old flame
– a tattoo that was in style years ago
– or even just a badly done tattoo
It didn’t take long before she discovered that Quebec was far behind with the technology that was currently being offered.
She spent several months researching and reading various journal articles in search of the best available technology in laser tattoo removal. The more research she did, the more interested she became in the technology.
She decided that they would not cut corners or settle on a laser because of price or availability. It was clear that many places in Quebec already had.
Her quest came to fruition when she discovered Quanta Systems and the technology they offer.
Dr. Maryam Majdi PhD Pharmacology & Therapeutics
Founded in 1985 by Dr. Angelo Ferrario in Milan, Italy, Quanta has earned an international reputation for building high performance, state of the art laser systems that are used in a wide array of industrial, scientific and aesthetic applications in over 130 countries around the globe.
Italian craftsmanship is considered to be some of the finest in the world. The culture of Italy is renowned for beautiful art, automobiles, architecture and fashion. The Quanta family of lasers is made in this same tradition.
Every Quanta laser is handcrafted by Italian engineers, offering the most advanced technology available in the marketplace and providing unmatched efficacy and performance in each laser built.
Today, Quanta lasers are used extensively in the restoration of the world’s most priceless works of art. From the Metropolitan Museum of New York to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Vatican Museum and countless frescoes, bronzes, monuments and statues.
—even works of Michelangelo have benefited from Quanta’s Thunder Art technology.
Quanta lasers are also used by diamond industry leader De Beers, to masterfully cut and sculpt each and every diamond they sell, ensuring a gem is priceless and one of a kind. In 2016, NASA and the European Space Agency took Quanta lasers to Mars in one the most anticipated missions of the decade.
How does this technology and excellence translate into a medical aesthetic practice? Simply put, every Quanta laser is built to be the most technically advanced system, whether it is headed to Mars, the Vatican Museum or a medical clinic. New technologies are tested for thousands of hours before being released to the market to ensure safety, efficacy and overall patient satisfaction.
As poet Samuel Johnson said:
“A man who has not been in Italy, is always conscious of an inferiority.”
Find superiority with Italian engineering and the beauty aesthetic that only Quanta brings to you.
