PERMANENT MAKEUP REMOVAL

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic procedure that involves tattooing specific pigments into the skin to enhance features such as eyebrows, eyeliner, and lipliner.  However, over time a person's preferences may change, or the makeup may fade, leading them to seek laser removal.

The laser works by emitting specific wavelengths to target the tattoo pigments in the skin, heating them up to extremely high temperatures, causing the pigments to shatter.  Thereafter, the immune system is signaled to send scavenger cells (white blood cells) to remove the ink particles that were shattered.  One noteworthy advantage of the Quanta Q Plus C for permanent makeup removal is its extreme precision can target specific areas, such as the eye area, without causing any damage to the surrounding tissue.

The Quanta Q Plus C offers faster results, in fewer sessions, than any other laser on the market.  It is able to target every colour of pigment on the spectrum, making it a versatile solution for removing all types of permanent makeup.  Ultimately, it is a non-invasive procedure that can help clients regain their natural appearance and the confidence that comes with it.

FAQs

  • Simply put, during the laser treatment, light from the laser penetrates the permanent makeup pigment in the skin, heating the ink to extremely high temperatures; thus, causing the pigment to explode into smaller particles. The body's natural defence mechanism sends out macrophages (scavenger cells) which then digest the smaller particles and expel them from the body through the lymphatic system. With the technology we offer, our Quanta Q-Plus C laser is capable of selectively heating the tattoo pigment without disrupting the surrounding tissue; thereby, significantly decreasing your risk of blistering and subsequently scarring.

  • Our Quanta Q Plus C laser is capable of safely and effectively removing permanent eyebrow (microblading, micro-shading, tattoo, etc.), permanent eyeliner, permanent lip makeup (lip blush, lip liner), cosmetic freckles, cosmetic beauty marks and SMP (Scalp Micro Pigmentation).

  • The pain associated with laser tattoo removal can be described as the feeling of a rubber band snapping on the skin. Some clients consider the process to be uncomfortable. However, with our cooling unit, the Zimmer Cryo 6, it can cool the skin before, during and after your laser treatment. The cooling unit will significantly reduce your discomfort, thus ensuring your experience is as comfortable as possible. For more sensitive clients, we carry a numbing cream which is available for purchase.

Please note that our cooling unit (the Zimmer Cryo 6) can not be used for permanent eyeliner removal during the procedure. It will be used after the treatment to help alleviate any discomfort.

  • Pricing is determined based on the area to be treated, which will be discussed when you come in for your free consultation.

  • Since results will vary depending on a number of factors, this question will more appropriately be answered after your assessment during your free, no obligation consultation with our Clinical Director Dr. Maryam Majdi, PhD (Pharmacology & Therapeutics).

  • Since you require sufficient time for the body’s natural defense system to digest and eliminate ink particles fragmented by the laser, the intervals vary from treatment to treatment but are typically spaced apart every 2 months.

  • While some redness and swelling is possible, you will generally be able to return to work immediately.

  • Absolutely! Tanning is the only activity that MUST be avoided for at least 2 weeks following your treatment. Soaking the skin (i.e. bath, pool, hot tub, lake, etc.) should also be avoided 1 week following your procedure.

  • The number of treatments will vary depending on a number of factors. Your immune system, the age of the permanent makeup, the ink density and the number of times the permanent makeup has been touched up or redone are some factors to name a few. This will be explained in further detail during your consultation.

  • You must refrain from using tanning beds for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment or 1 month if you are tanning outdoors in the sun. This is crucial in order to avoid any potential change in pigment due to tanning. Since the laser works based on contrast, if you hold a tan beyond 2 weeks, we highly advise against doing a laser treatment. This may result in hyper(darkening) or hypo(lightening) pigmentation of the skin.
