TATTOO REMOVAL

Tattoos can be a meaningful way to express oneself, but can also be a source of regret for some people.  Fortunately, with advances in cosmetic technology, tattoo removal is now possible.  Our laser, the Quanta Q Plus C, is the most effective method to completely remove a tattoo.

The advantages of using the Quanta Q Plus C for tattoo removal are clear: It is the safest laser for ALL skin types and can remove ALL ink colors.  It can even remove “difficult-to-remove” colors such as green and blue inks.  This is because the laser can be customized to specific wavelengths, and hence makes it suitable for all skin tones and ink colors.

The laser works by emitting specific wavelengths to target the tattoo pigments in the skin, heating it up to extremely high temperatures, causing the pigments to shatter.  Thereafter, the immune system is signaled to send scavenger cells (white blood cells) to remove the ink particles that were shattered.  Our laser specifically targets the ink particles without damaging the surrounding tissue.  The Quanta Q Plus C offers faster results, in fewer sessions than any other laser on the market.

The procedure requires little to no down time, allowing clients to return to their daily activities shortly after their treatment.

FAQs

  • The pain associated with laser tattoo removal can be described as the feeling of a rubber band snapping on the skin. Many consider the process to be uncomfortable. However, with our cooling unit, the Zimmer Cryo 6, it can cool the skin before, during and after your laser treatment. The cooling unit will significantly reduce your discomfort, thus ensuring your experience is as comfortable as possible. For larger or more sensitive areas, we carry a numbing cream which is available for purchase.

  • Pricing is calculated by square inch. Since tattoo removal requires multiple sessions, we offer packages and promotions which will be discussed when you come in for your free consultation.

  • Simply put, during the laser tattoo removal process, light from the laser penetrates the tattoo pigment in the skin, heating the ink to extremely high temperatures; thus, causing the pigment to explode into smaller particles. The body's natural defence mechanism sends out macrophages (scavenger cells) which then digest the smaller particles and expel them from the body through the lymphatic system. With the technology we offer, our Quanta Q-Plus C laser is capable of selectively heating the tattoo pigment without disrupting the surrounding tissue; thereby, significantly decreasing your risk of blistering and subsequently scarring.

  • Since you require sufficient time for the body’s natural defense system to digest and eliminate ink particles fragmented by the laser, the intervals vary from treatment to treatment.

  • While some redness, swelling, (and very rarely blistering), is possible, you will generally be able to return to work immediately. Exceptions may apply due to the treatment area or certain ink pigments that are being removed.

  • For the majority of clients, absolutely! There is very rarely any breaking of the skin, so you may go to the gym, work, cook or clean immediately following treatment. In some cases, due to the treatment area or certain ink pigments, some activities may be impacted. Tanning is the only activity that MUST be avoided for at least 2 weeks following your treatment.

  • The number of treatments will vary depending on a number of factors. Your immune system, the location of the tattoo, the age of the tattoo and the ink density are some factors to name a few. This will be explained in further detail during your consultation.

  • You must refrain from using tanning beds for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment or 1 month if you are tanning outdoors in the sun. This is crucial in order to avoid any potential blistering, or change in pigment due to tanning. Since the laser works based on contrast, if you hold a tan beyond 2 weeks, we highly advise against doing a laser treatment. This may result in hyper(darkening) or hypo(lightening) pigmentation of the skin.

It is also imperative to wait at least 2 weeks after your treatment before tanning again.

  • Since results will vary depending on a number of factors, this question will more appropriately be answered after your assessment during your free, no obligation consultation with our Clinical Director Dr. Maryam Majdi, PhD (Pharmacology & Therapeutics).

  • Yes! With our Quanta Q Plus C laser containing 3 lasers within its unit, it will be able to effectively and safely target all colours on the spectrum, including greens and blues, which have been previously impossible to target with older generations and current lasers.

  • As with any form of tattoo removal, there are always risks involved with this treatment. Common risks include blistering, hypopigmentation, and hyperpigmentation. However, with our technology being the most effective for laser tattoo removal in the world, the associated risks are significantly reduced. It is important to understand that certain drugs, tanning or underlying conditions may make you more prone to these risks. Please inform our Clinical Director, Dr. Maryam Majdi PhD (Pharmacology & Therapeutics), of any drugs/supplements, or any underlying conditions you may have to ensure your treatments are safe and effective.
